The children of John, Robert, and Ted Kennedy, and those of Jean Kennedy Smith, Patricia Kennedy Lawford, and Eunice Kennedy Shriver have had some problems in their lives, but have overcome them and are productive members of society. Many of them are involved in public service and non-profit organizations and maintain the legacy of their parents. Many of them speak around the country about civil rights, the environment, drug abuse and other topics.
While they each have their own families, they are the next generation of the Kennedy family tree. There is always speculation about which one will be the next Kennedy to seek a higher office. Some have dabbled in politics already, perhaps setting themselves up for a future bid.

He has been critized for his alliance with Citgo, a subsidiary of the state-run Venezuelan oil business. Venezuela's president is a foe of the United States.
Robert Kennedy Jr. (born 1954) is an environmental activist, attorney, and author. He is an environmental activist and the Chief Prosecuting Attorney for Riverkeepers, which cleaned up the Hudson River in New York among other successes.
David Kennedy (born 1955) died in 1984 of a drug overdose.
